rjla, Thanks for your detailed descriptions of these spots. I have seen snorkeling photos posted from Bahia Honda, and from some of these it looks like the shore snorkeling there sometimes isn't too bad. I think the summary statement that you always read that "there is no shore snorkeling in the Keys" may not be entirely correct, although this statement may be right when it's windy.

rjla, a follow-up. I just glanced at some of your YouTube videos. They are great! They are such a good resource for snorkelers. I would not have thought it would ever be worthwhile to snorkel in Tampa Bay, but your videos indicate otherwise.

Thanks Dave. Shore snorkeling can be tricky since the waters are usually very shallow and if there are winds over 10kts, the sand is kicked up very bad making visibility very poor, sometimes almost zero. But if you go out on days, especially in the morning when winds are lightest, you can find some pretty cool stuff in less then 5-10 feet of water. Thanks also for checking out my vids. I really wish I had the courage to try diving like many of you guys do here and see some amazing things, but for now we are having a blast sticking with the little things :)
