I'll be in need of a buddy after this weekend. (My checkout dives are this weekend). My planned dive buddy is insane. He is well aware that I am a newbie and he's already talking about doing 100 plus spots. I don't want to even think about risking myself like that. So if anybody wants the honor of saying they guided a total newbie through the beginning stages let me know hehe. I am a really fast learner.

Is this 'planned buddy' your friend? Does he/she like you at all? I would never ask a new diver, or any diver for that matter to go beyond thier training and/or thier comfort level. I'm sure some of our new members down in the south florida area will take you. We were all newbies once.
