I have a Scubapro tek wing god knows what the lift is but I do think its to mutch. Do I go with a donut style. A triangle style. Or well I just don't know
and how do figure out the lift to body wieght ratio?

By the way this is for a Dive Rite trans pak/w singles
I weigh 285lbs. and Im 6 foot 3inches tall (yikes)

Aloha 50feet!
We are going to need a bit more info. Tank(s) size and type, suit type and thickness, just for starters. Do you want to only change the wing or the BP too? If you want to change the BP then do you want steel, Alum, or ABS?

Body weight has nothing to do with lift - it's determined mostly by the negative buoyancy of your tank when full, and the total weight of your weightbelt/integrated weight (plus backplate/STA if being used), and some allowance for regulators etc.

LioKai,
The Dive-Rite Transpac does not use a backplate.

50 feet,

I have travel, and rec wings, I use Steel Tanks whenever possible, and I don't like the travel wing. The rec wing is probably similar to what you have. I also have a Halcyon pioneer 27 which works nicely with steel or aluminum tanks, it is the donut shaped wing. If I had it to do over, I would get the 36 rather than the 27, they are the same size, but the 36 has bellows (an expandable panel)
there are a lot of write ups on the boards about the newer Halcyon and Oxycheck wings.

Best of luck in your search

Well I try to use a steel 95 or aluminum 80 . I have 24 pounds of weight with the smaller tanks like 72's. my suit is a Henderson Hyperstretch 5mm and a gold core 3mm or so hooded vest this wing I have now is triangle shaped and is bungied the sides are all one blader at the top. Well does the shape matter? The donut kind work well? It seems that I need to be streemline better also and would like to kill to fish with one hook. also I dive in the California cold stuff and will this be a problem ?
