Well, I am moving from Chicago in two weeks to stay in my hometown in NC. what are the best dive shops you know who offer liveaboard..
Also any shore diving?
I have not been there for a while, and I was not a diver back then.

I guess it depends on where your hometown is in NC. If it is Asheville, no shore diving to speak of. Nags Head has 2 or 3 wrecks than can be done as shore dives but that's about all I can think of that has anything worth seeing.

While there are over night charters every now and then (not the norm), NC isn't resort diving and there aren't any real "liveaboards", no DM's in the water and no guides.

Perhaps check out NCDivers or the NC Wreck Divers section here on Scubaboard. :)

My Local dive shop, in MD., arranges trips to NC wreck dive quite frequently. Most often going to Beauford, NC. These are boat trips, out and back in a day, to the clear gulf stream waters. The boat they charter is the Diver Down.

Some of the dive mags showcase NC wreck diving as world class.

These dive require AOW as they are deeper dives.

I researched some shore diving from the Nags Head area but have not gone yet. Water can be cold untill mid July.
