Only a few weeks to go and my kid has just developed (or found??) a nasal polyp!! As a Piscean water baby this is very serious!! I will take her to the doctor this week (and with the state of our health service we will probably get an appointment with a specialist by this time next year). Do you think I should postpone our plans to do the OW course??? She says that she can breath through the other nostril but I don't know if it is safe to let her dive.

Any advice chaps?

You may get some good answers here, but if you don't by Monday - then call DAN. It's free, even if you're not a member yet.

And put your location in your Profile.

Being able to breathe through only one nostril poses clear risks to safe scuba. The prudent course would be to postpone any training until the matter is resolved.

DandyDon is quite up on suggesting that inquirers contact DAN even if they are not members, although he doesn't offer how these services are to be funded if they are heavily used by those who are not members or donating in some fashion.

In any event, DAN membership is at http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/membership/index.asp.

DAN Medical Services can be accessed by calling (919) 684-2948 (Mon-Fri, 9AM-5PM EST) or by emailing http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/contact/email.asp?RE=Medicine.

Best regards.
