Thumbs up on the Ubuntu front.... that would mean the world to me.In other but still relevant news...
Two things.
#1 We are still testing for a functional Windows 64bit work around. I expect positive results soon.
#2 I'm currently investigating the possibilities of porting the download software for Google's new Android Live OS and Chrome OS for PC as well as some Linux OSs such as Ubuntu and Cent.
yep, count on me for the ubuntu side donations. I work in finance so won't be able to help a lot with the programing though!Android is now also a micro operating system as well as the Crome OS.
Their main use is on netbooks and such but I do have a friend that is running android on a full size PC as a multimedia server in his home.
Making mobile logbook for Android would be relatively easy but I am not familiar with Black Berry or Windows Mobile app development.
If I see enough interest in it I would take it on.
I would also need to setup a paypal donation button to cover spending a lot of time on it.
Is there a way to reset the computer compeletly, wiping all the previous dives and resetting back to factory settings. I tried the reset button, both with the computer off and on, and neither deleted the previous dives. I also removed the battery for 10+ minutes but it still had the dive data from 60 previous dives on it. The computer has a dive I didn't do on it (Pool dive) which keeps throwing off the log book number. I can fix it by editing the DC_Log_Man file and changing the filenames of subsequent dives, but it's a real pain since it keeps adding this particular dive back in when ever I download again. There should be a way to select which dives to add to the logbook software, rather than just having to accept them all.
Did anybody answer this question about resetting to factory settings?
I just bought 2 used n2itions and I was wondering about the same thing.
To the best of my understanding you basically can't.
The reset button brings the settings back to factory standards such as setting it to air diving from nitrox, safety factors back to zero, clear all the counters, time and alarms, etc.
It will allow you to clear any surface time and lend your computer to someone on some limited circumstances (as in on day diving) but that is it.
The computer history can't be deleted. it is like a car's odometer.
