Does anyone know what the white ball is attached to the manifold of the divers in the video above?

Tanks were so heavy and suit compression so extreme it was likely some non-compressible float to aid in buoyancy........

Yes I saw the video and was going to comment also.
Divers were using tripple tanks and NO weight belts,some had 1 or 2 balls to compensate for the weight at the begining of the dive.

The same floats are used by the local fishermen.

The ones I have seen are white or yellow

They are generally a very hard hollow plastic and non compressable
