Woo hoo! My wife just signed up for an Open Water class today! She'll be all certified by the time we go on our vacation to Maui in June! :D

Did you finally talk her into it or was it her idea?
I have to say that having my wife as a dive buddy is very convenient and something we really enjoy doing together.

Very good news!

We enjoy diving as a couple and it's especially nice when we share the outing with other couples.

lucky you !! :) I know mine wants to do it, but only in nice, clear and warm waters ;)

It was basically her idea. I was encouraging when she expressed interest, but I was careful never to pressure her. I tend to believe that if you push someone that isn't comfortable into diving it is usually a recipe for them to have a bad experience.

That's basically what my wife says, but I'll take it! :D

But who knows, maybe once she tries diving in cold water during the class, she'll feel differently. Even if not, enjoying diving on vacations with her will be great.

I'm so sorry. I "made" my wife take Scuba lessons -- what a HUGE mistake. Now we own a boat, 4 sets of doubles, 4 singles, 2 deco bottles.........

Buying gear for one person is bad enough!
