So I bought my first one on ebay- $23, I hope it is serviceable but I had a question. The seller had 4 listed, 3 as conshelf xiv-3000psi and the one I bought as conshelf xiv-4000 psi. Did the seller do a typo or are some of these rated at different sp?

The yoke on some are stamped 3000 psi and some 4000 psi (and some 230 Bar). They are all the same... they all can handle any Scuba tank pressure available.

Unless someone ran over it with a tank, you should not have any problem servicing it.
Congratulations.
Have fun.

It came in the mail today and it is clearly stamped 3000 psi, not 4000...I am not sure what (if anything) I want to do about that...Any thoughts from anyone with some more ebay experience?

As far as the yoke is concerned, Luis can probably advise you best.

But as to your eBay question; the seller probably made a simple mistake. However, do not send feedback until you are satisfied. Contact the seller and let him know that you did not receive the item you paid for and would like him to make good on it. List the options you find acceptable.

In the meantime, have a look at the resolution page on eBay. Resolution Center - eBay & http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/item-not-received.html

Good luck,

c

Considering that if they are both XIV models the only thing differnet is the numbers stamped in the yoke I would not do anything. Now if they were different models or in considerably different conditions I might have to send some emails to the seller.

...or Herman

But you might have bid on that particular one BECAUSE it said 4000psi in the description.

Actually, the seller had listed 4 in a row, each closing 20 minutes after the other and at $10 more initial asking price. I bid on this one, the second one, because I simply missed out on the $9.99 one. I am actually happy with the overall condition of this one but did feel a little 'cheated' when I realized it wasn't what she had listed.

That reg should work fine. if you like the shape it is in I personally would not worry about it as the one you have will work fine for diving. I believe they are both the same yoke. The reg is tough as nails and easy to work on. You got a good deal on it.

At $23 consider that you stole it and enjoy...

Update, I sent the seller an email asking about the mix up. AT first she said she would just refund my money because she thought she had sent the 4000psi to the other buyer but then she found the correct one and sent it to me. I asked her what she wanted me to do with the first reg and offered to buy it from her. She told me to keep, teach my kids to dive and pass on the good karma. So now I have 2 for $23

Totally awsome

:)
