What with travel, work and dry suit issues, I haven't been in the water in almost a month. But I've had a bunch of night shifts with a lot of down time.

What do you do with an idle hour at two in the morning?

Well, of course . . . you browse diving-related bulletin boards. You follow links and watch scuba videos. Specifically, cave diving videos.

LOTS of cave diving videos.

Then you read articles about cave diver training courses.

Then you put cave diving photographs as the wallpaper on your computers.

I think I'd better get back to real diving soon.

So, what's YOUR diving fantasy?

I have a couple. :D

1. go diving in the tropics....just once. I love cold water diving, but it would be fun to dive the tropics to see what it's like.

2. Cave/Wreck diving at like 300ft. Why? I have no idea. The idea of it intrigues me greatly. It seems so mysterious or something.

to have enough money to go on exotic trips. though i'm luckier than some - my non-exotic trips in my 'backyard' are to great wrecks with lots of interesting & colorful life.

still, to go to yap or fiji or something...

(doing the cavern thing in feb, so that dream's about to start becoming reality!)

to dive more frequently, to eventually one day be cavern and cave certified.
They're caves down here!
There's also a fantasy of being a great u/w photographer and having friends oooh and ahhh at my pics.

My screensaver can be set to do slideshows and I downloaded 250 wreck images awhile back and put them on the machine at work.

My fantasy right now involves taking a 3 month leave-of-absence after my 5 year anniversary at my job next year and renting someplace to stay in cozumel/akumal for at least a month of that (and maybe florida for another month?).

For training, tech 1 / cave 1 / wreck 1 is about where I want to be.

lamont, you mean I'm not the only hopeless sick person on Scubaboard?

Here's what you could do with your three month holiday. Even though the fellow who wrote it says not to do it that way . . .

Okay, Bob, you're one of the pernicious influences . . . your cave training report was one of the ones I spent way too much time reading in the wee hours this week!
