Or, as one might say "Different strokes..."

:shocked2:

:mooner: :D

Sigh, I'm certainly one of those "Rule Number 1" divers you were told by GI3 not to dive with

Yes.... I am a stroke.... but with my multiple knives I am at least a well-dressed stroke :D

Best wishes.

OK, that's a lie. My dive knife is SMALLER than most.

I admit it, here and now and in public. I use a short, stumpy dive knife.

It's a dieter's steak knife! Wait, make that a DIeteR's steak knife . I carry a Wenoka big squeeze (not gigantic, but fairly big). I wear 3mm-5mm gloves and I like a knife with a nice-sized handle so I can get a good grip on it. Plus I think big knives are cool, and diving's the only opportunity I get to carry one.

it needs to have a point ,,,cant put down a big gag grouper with a cut off steak knife unless he's already on the grill

Honestly, what would Mike Nelson think???

Also, in keeping with the theme of this thread; my cookie is bigger than yours:

I have an almost unique dive knife (almost, because there are a handful of them). It was a very loving gift from a very wonderful person -- I think he's on ScubaBoard (airsix). It's hand made, a little longer than the DIR steak knife but not much, and fantastically sharp. It's a work of art, and I sometimes feel guilty about hauling it around on my harness.

My singles rig has a steak knife. I've also thought about getting one of those really spiffy Z-knife shaped nylon rope cutters. I don't dive where there's wire.

Picture?

cold steel makes some great knives, i would also check out sog, benchmade, ka-bar, boker might have some that would do well under the water, just have to be sure to check the composition of the metals in the blade and if you have the optional choice for like a TiNi coating, definatly get it

Go Microtech or go home.

(note I do own at least one SOG and 5 benchmade knives)

What did it do, get caught in a grinder??

BTW, short stumpy knives for short stumpy people???.....

No pictures. . . I'm at work and my gear is 150 miles away.

A large dive knife (that i carry) with a small knife (that my son carries) is a good combination for winning underwater pumpkin carving contests.
