According to what I've read, the venom isn't poisonous if merely ingested. So, if she managed not to poke herself, then she might be okay.
It's a big internet though, I might have read some outright lies.
to be pedantic... venom can’t be poisonous...venom is venomous and must be injected as opposed to ingested...but you are correct in your hypothesis.

My lion ate a catfish. Will she be okay?
I'm in Roatan, Honduras and was spearing lionfish from the channel behind my house. I speared one and removed it on a fish cleaning table (with the tide in, the table was in about 3" of water). My cat came down and waded thru the water, jumped up on the table, took the lionfish back up to the house and devoured it under the steps. By the time I noticed this, she had eaten most of it.
Anyone have any experience on whether the lionfish venom is harmful to felines?
I suppose they are indirectly ancestors from the cat family *
