I just logged on after dinner to see if there was anything worth reading or contributing to and I counted 11 threads on the first page of New Posts pertaining to Humor, Games, Clips, Yarns and Tales.

I guess this is predominately a Humor, Games, Clips, Yarns and Tales website now, and not a board about scubadiving. Funny thing is, as the board grows, it gets slower and slower in reponse time. The bandwidth is being used up with a lot of non-dive related material. Oh well. Back to the other boards that focus on diving. :shakehead:

You can do what I do... remove entire sub-forums that don't interest you. Makes the board a whole lot more enjoyable and worthwhile.

That's a great idea. I'll do that. When 44% of the active threads this evening have nothing to do with diving, I question the purpose of the board. I guess threads with over 110,000 views create advertising revenue for the board and owner. Good for him. Bad for the rest of us that have to put up with slow bandwidth because of it. Talking about diving on here gets a little tedius when each search takes forever and each post takes 30 seconds to post. And I have a fast connection. TDS and RBW are about 10 times faster, but it's hard to get a days worth of humor out of those sites. :eyebrow:

I figured maybe there was only a bunch of Politicians on here based on the number of political threads in the Pub. Can't block that entire forum but maybe I will for the humour etc.

I remember a time when this board was just about diving and it wasn't a business. Now, business goals take precident over what made the board great; knowledge transfer. Now that knowledge transfer is clouded and diluted by political blogs and jokes. Sad.

OK so help a guy out. how the heck do you block an entire sub forum? I have been looking and cannot figure it out.

It's not intuitive...

How about, instead of contributing to the ammount og "non-diving" threads making some diving related ones?
Just a thought.

Also you should keep in mind that some periods of the year many divers are more active than other periods alas has less "diving info" to exchange.
As far as myself goes, its snowing here atm and the water is about to become ice cubes so naturally I dive less than I would in may to october and therefore I just has less "new experiences" to share than I would during the time the water aint solid..

You lost me there. ????

Were you trying to imply that I don't contribute to dive related forums?
