mars2u once bubbled...

Is it John Mcdermott ?
Alright then he "covered" it, and you take the prize. For the record, it was written and first recorded by Michael Smith (the folksong writer not to be confused wih Michael W. Smith, the Christian singer). The late, great Chicago folkie Steve Goodman probably had the bigger "hit" with it. A beautiful song, isn't it, mars?

You go, mars2u.

Yes it's a great song...I'll have to get the original to listen to it.

OK...here's one that I remembered when I had just turned 21 and a guy in his 40's would always ask me to hit E12 on the jukebox. Just as a hint...Johnny Cash covered one of his tunes, but not this one, so it gives you an idea of the decade(s). Still alive and pickin'

hehehe

Well, i sat down in my closet with all my overalls
Tryin' to get away
From all the ears inside my walls
I dreamed the police heard

Bacchus once bubbled...
John Prine...Illegal Smile

(Am I really getting that old? :( )

Very good...you're up. Man that brings back memories when I was sitting with the 'ol timers years ago. Never heard of it until they kept requesting it.

No, you're not getting old. I'm not that old and I knew about it when I was 21.

......Living in a house, no lights no heat
I sit in the bathtub and pour hot water on my feet
I'm not alone here, a friend came down with me
I came to see 'bout you, he came to see what he could see.

This is no "third rate" band :D

So the group would be the Amazing Rhythm Aces (who sang Third Rate Romance). But no idea on the song title.

You're right Amazing Rythym Aces

The song title is "Losing You"

Along with Willin' it's one of my favorite Ace's songs. Pretty obscure though.

You're up. (after a few concessions :D )
