Hey folks!

I was certified WAY back in the day, at Portage Quarry over in Bowling Green Ohio. For years, I dove Ohio and Michigan, with a few trips down to Florida. A year ago, I had a chance to move down to Clearwater for a job, and the diving was great! Springs! The Gulf! The Atlantic! Some sink holes! Sweet! Alas, the company exploded, and I now find myself back up in the great state. Still looking for work! Sheesh!

ScubaBoard was great for me when I moved down to Florida! Lots of great divers and events! I never used it, while I was here in Ohio.

SO, my question! How are the events up here? Are there any dive groups in the Toledo area? How's the action? I stopped at Portage, and talked to them about their LEGENDS event, which sounds great! I also saw the banner for the Gilboa event, for setting the record of divers in the water! I, am SO there!

Looking forward to hearing from fellow divers! :D

I live in Toledo, my LDS is Scuba Diving : Aqua Hut , located on Reynolds road. I do the majority of my diving at Whitestar Quarry in Gibsonburg Ohio, its about the same distance away as Portage (approx. 40min.) but the vis is better and they have the Crusher Pit! :)

I work nights so I'm always lookin' for those that may be available during the day, more specifically between the hours of 9am and 2pm... if you can dive during those times I'm your man, lemme know an I'll meet ya' out there...

Hey PvtStash! Thanks!

I was certified by Jeff and Aqua Hut back in 1985! In fact, I was at there shop out in BG at the time! He's a great guy!

I'll hit ya with a PM so we can stay in touch!

Hi Boats,

My club dives every week in your area. You are more than welcome to participate in any dives. I guess I should say welcome back. But let's be honest, sorry you had to come back to Michigan.

Portage Quarry..........The vis is 50 feet plus at portage and there is more to look at, and they have a underground navigation course. Plus its much bigger and better. They have more than two entry points..

a underground navigation course.

They do? You actually go underground? Huh?

I love portage and the viz has been great this year.

Hey folks, thanks for the feedback!

When I dove Portage back in the day, they had a chain draped across the stone driveway. Nothing else was there. Oh, there were like three porta-pottys over by the water entrance!

I thought the underwater navigation course looked great!

I'm self employed, so I can dive just about any time of the day!

What other places can ya dive? I was checking out the web, and found the wrecks around Kellys Island. Has anyone ever hit these?

Thanks again!
