OOPS! I just realized my previous post could be mistaken that I was saying go to the Pub to see abrasive posts by Matt. I've never seen an abrasive post by Matt (IMO). I was suggesting Sam Blakely go to the Pub and he would maybe have a different perspective on abrasive posting. ;)

The boat launch is not behind the same gate, can't remember if there is a gate out there or not(its completely seperate and doubt it has an open/close restriction unless its due to water levels).

Last I remember, they put signs up at the boat launch saying no 'scuba' diving. Likely after we all ignored the 'no diving' signs, since we weren't planning to jump in the water headfirst.

There is parking outside the gate at Morrison. Its a longer walk... but you don't get yourself locked in.
We've done a couple of night dives there since it reopened. Basically, you just call the Sheriff and ask them if it's ok. If they know you are there they won't lock you in. We had a little cookout/picnic and invited the deputy to eat with us. Just from what I've observed, they don't necessarily lock the gate at official sunset or open at official sunrise. I think it is more of just one of the tasks to be done by the deputy patrolling that area, when he gets around to it. That's why I'd let them know, cause just because the gate is still open at 10pm, that doesn't mean it won't get closed at 1002 pm.
