If I'm properly weighted for an Aluminum 80cu ft tank will I need more weight If I use a 100cu ft Aluminum tank??

Thanks.

What kind of 80 and what kind of 100?

Assumptions:
AL80 to HP100
If this is the case you should be able to shed 4-5 lbs, not add any.

Thanks for the quick reply's and sorry for the confusion

I have my weight dialed in for an Aluminum 80 and I'll be diving with an Aluminum 100 for my first dive of each day while in Coz.

Thanks for the info.

On the Huron page you want to be comparing the EMPTY BUOYANCY specifications. The difference is your delta.

I just dove the Oriskany with an operator who supplied 95 steel tanks for the dives. I dropped four pounds of lead on the first dive which was still a little heavy but not enough to cause any problems. The 95's were over-kill in my opinion since I came up with 1300-1500psi on all dives. Another problem I had with these tanks is that they had a tendency to roll from side to side even after I readjusted my straps at depth. I think I'll stick with AL80's which I am accustomed to. I applaud the operator for his concern though.

If its AL to AL, you probably won't the extra air weight at the beginning means you could actually go down with less weight, but at your SS, you'll be about equal for the extra empty air, but slightly higher mass of a 100... I know this is true for me, I'm actually 1kg lighter for a 100 than with an AL80
