I want to get a bit more insulation before going to Alor (and maybe Komodo?). I like the idea of a hooded vest to wear over my wetsuit, but since I am 1.97m (6'6"), 109kg (240lbs), no one has this size stock in SEA - they rarely have it in the US!

I wear a XXL 5mil wetsuit, I guess to go on top on that it would have to be 3X?

Any ideas how I could order it and get it delivered either in Singapore (would have to be in the next few days) or to Bali? Shipping from the US to Bali is terribly expensive.

You might be surprised. The people I know that have a hooded vest wear the same size that they do in full wetsuits with the same brand. Give your usual size a try!

You can also wear it under your wetsuit. I find it warmer that way if you need even more warmth.

I always wear mine underneath too. When I go to freezing water 3 mm shorty over usual wetsuit over 2 mil hooded vest. When I go back to Alor this is the plan as I am a wuss.

This time of year in Alor is typically not so cold.. but yes, why not order one from Seagods, won't be ready for your trip though

I already had around 20C in the south of the strait, up to 28C in the northern parts.

I have had 16C, friends had 11C once on an upwelling... that is crazy

But as Luko says, that is in the south of the Strait or in the Bay, it's warmer in the northern end of the Strait. Amazing how just a few KMs can make a massive difference..
