Looking around, there seem to be a dearth of webcams in the Monterey area. Is this true or am I just looking in the wrong places? I see a bunch around Santa Cruz, but can find only Del Monte beach in Monterey. It would be nice to have a live picture of current conditions. Does anyone if any exist?

I was pointed to one at Lovers http://pnetcam.stanford.edu/
The Aquarium has one. http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/efc/efc_lotb/webcam.aspx
And Del Monte beach you found already.

I told Glenn he should put one up on his shop, but I guess thats way down on the priority list at the moment.

Thanks! It'd be great if there was one at BW, but I guess the ancient method of "call and ask" will have to suffice for now. :D

If you guys know strategical webcam placements i would get the hardware software for em. I would gladly support something like it so i can see conditions first hand. would be awesome to have submerged camera :)

Talk to Glenn, he seemed open to the idea of putting on on his roof. I think another idea would be a light pole near the stairs, but the logistics of getting Monterey to allow it might not be easy.

http://pnetcam.stanford.edu/ is not at Lover's Pt. but rather at
Hopkins Marine Station.

Backscatter has threatened to put one up. They probably have a
better view of the beach than Glenn's (they have a second story,
and no breakwall in the way).

My buddies have asked me to put one up at my house... PM me if you are serious about your offer...

Wonder what happened to the Del Monte Post Naval underwater webcam.

They'd clean it, then less than a day later it'd be getting overgrown again. Not to mention the sea stars that wanted to see it close up and covered the lens.
