With the Monterey/Carmel marathon coming up this weekend, Sunday, 11/6, can some of you who have dove or tried to dive on such a weekend shed some light to what we should expect this weekend, e.g. road closures, traffic, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

Dive safe,

Mel

Didn't know about the marathon but I was going to be in Monterey (non diving) that weekend. Thanks for the heads up.

This is the half marathon. It starts somewhere over by the Naval PostGraduate
School, runs along the water to Pt Pinos and back.

ACCESS TO DIVES SITES WILL BE SEVERELY RESTRICTED ON SUNDAY.

Me: I've got a Pt. Lobos reservation, though conditions may make that moot.

it frigging figures:11: oh well mabey a saturday night dive, and find some place on sunday, it seems to work this way a lot lately

lee3:

HIGHEST WINDS AND WAVES S OF POINT SUR. NW SWELL 8 TO 10 FT.
.SAT NIGHT...NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT...DECREASING TO 10 TO 20 KT OVERNIGHT.
WIND WAVES 2 TO 5 FT. NW SWELL 6 TO 8 FT.
.SUN...NW WINDS 5 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 1 TO 3 FT.
NW SWELL 6 TO 8 FT. SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN LATE.
