Same thing. The ones we are talking about, though are in a see through capsule and have a color indicator. So you can tell if they are still good or not. My experience is that a capsule can last many dives or just one depending on the environment the camera is sealed in. Also, I've had small leaks in my housing (my fault) which is scary.

Sorry, I took a SB Break.

I like using the Sealife MMs, but only need to buy one pack, then keep them in a ziplock of Damprid. Works well. Before, as soon as I grabbed one MM from a new pack, the rest would start changing color, this preserves them and rejuvenates them as well.

For your leaks, man - get a Personal Articles policy from State Farm. They'll insure your dive camera and whatever else you want to cover a lot cheaper and lot better than any of these so called diver's equipment policies. :D

Shame on me if this was answered in the thread, but where do you get the Damprid? What area of "home depot" can I get it?
42 oz at Walgreen for $3.79...

My DC100 and 500 used to go threw Moisture Muncher capsules like free peanuts at happy hour; a new pack before every dive trip, and on a high count dive trip I'd be using pink ones before I knew it. Then I saw a post here on SB suggesting putting them in the oven. About 35-45 minutes at 150 to 200 degrees and they're blue again. The same 10 capsules have now been with me for a several years.

Yeah, I think that was mentioned, along with a better quality microwave than I have - but I hated how the boogers would start turning pink inside the sealed package as soon I to took one out. Now I keep them all in the Damp Rid, all blue until used - then blue again not long after. ;)

You had mentioned Damp Rid earlier. I'll have to look for it, but the oven is a very effective method, especially if you are unable to find any other solution when in need.

Once they are blue again they last me quite a while if I zip lock them 2 layers. 1 pair of caps in small zip, 4-5 small zips in 1 larger zip, so I'm only exposing one set of two at a time when opening themfor installation.

The oven trick does sound like it works. Damp Rid is just so convenient for me. I carry them all in the ziplock, along with some white paper filled munchers - blue until used, then blue again. My only fears are a ziplock breaking or a greenhorn customs officer getting too interested...

As they say: there is more than one way to skin a cat (cats do not approve of any of them tho!).

Now if that greenhorn customs agent gets too interested in those zips and wants to snort them, then I say thats his problem.
