Hi guys, this is my favorite Mk5 (I have 4) but I can't locate it in time, as you can see it has the modern yoke, but the turret has 4 LP outputs and it's satin.
I bought it in Barcelona a long time ago, but apart from coming disassembled, the guy couldn't tell me much.
I would appreciate any indication of the vintage masters

Some more photos.

A greeting from Spain

Hello happy diver, yes, I know the page and I have all the manuals, but doesn't it seem strange to you that it has the modern yoke and only 4 Lp ports?
What year would you say it is?

Regards Australia

Interesting, here are a few random thoughts I get when looking at the photos.

Looking at the yoke, the shape and satin finish remind me of MK14/16, but the stamped S is slightly different and I cannot find a match in just a few minutes of looking. The plastic Scubapro saddles were mostly smooth finish, this one has the textured plastic saddle found on MK5 style first stages sold by Oceanic and perhaps a couple others. The switch from 4 to 5 lp ports was made about 10 years before the switch from flat yoke screws to modern round yoke screws. Aside from the satin finish, the swivel shape is slightly different from other Scubapro MK5 4 lp port swivels The sticker on top of the yoke screw is not at all a common style, but can't recall at the moment the relevance as a clue. I don't think the dust cap is Scubapro version, but those are sometimes replaced so that may not mean much.

Taking a guess and following my intuition, the body could be non Scubapro and the yoke was switched out for a SP version. The fact that is was purchased disassembled does make me think this could me a mix of different brand parts.
Or this could be a very limited edition.
I'm out of time for now, but will be thinking on this. Perhaps we can find a brand that made a satin body version of the MK5 with 4 lp ports which matches.

By the way, could you say what year this was purchased in Barcelona?

I agree that the yoke is clearly a lighter shade/finish than the reg body so most likely they didn’t come together originally.

The problem with trying to date by feature is complicated by not knowing its history. Mix and match parts may explain it as Dustin has pointed out. Frosted finish was a trend for a while, starting around the late 80’s as happy said.

30 years after discontinued performance is all the really matters.

Ok, thank you all very much for your contributions.
The photos are not of very good quality, but I assure you that both the color tone and the gloss are completely uniform.
If you look at the exploded view, the piston is the rear one with the shoulder, it had a flat white seat and I added the pono, since it did not have it.
This type of research fascinates me.

Thank you all and please keep contributing.

Another thing that I find curious is that if you look at the photo where you can see it next to the other, the satin finish is shorter, however the piston and the spring are interchangeable, ah, the yogo screw has two o-rings, one on top like the others and another below like the Mk10
