It may be a bit late, but I could use 3.

Actually, you're early: we're trying to figure out a way to meet the minimum quantity of 100, and we're only half way there.

It appears that there's only a handful of us DIY'ing our MK5's, but there could be more folks who have theirs serviced at the LDS. Is it a liability issue if the owners buy the bolt and ask the LDS to fit it?

I invited the seller/maker to post his views here. Arnaud, are you listening?

...free SS turret retainers compliments of SP......whatcha think guys? :-)

You're playing with fire Bro. SP may find it more cost effective to send you a brand new MK25. Don't say I didn't warn you.

That would take care of one, but what about the thousands of others out there? I say we push for a recall...you guys tell them my widow demands it......:D

Extra! Just out!

Arnaud, the French seller, has got another offer from an alternative machinist:
  • 7.60 euros each for a minimum quantity of 50 and a lead time of 4 weeks!
And now the fine prints:
  • 7.60 euros is 9.99 dollars according to xe.com right now. That can be a fews % worse for buy rate - No big deal.
  • Timing: I'll be away diving Dec 24 - Jan 8, so the project'll start earliest on Jan 10, ETA: Feb.
  • The machinist demands a model - Still no biggies, I can remove mine and send him.
  • I'm not sure about QA & shipping: maybe Arnaud can send the finished goods to a friend's place in France nearby at domestic rate, then I try them on mine that I'll have to reassemble anyway, and ship them to you guys. What do you think?
  • To save on international shipping, it'll be good if we had a volunteer acting Post Office in the US; he'll ship to the various parties at domestic rate.
  • Payment: Arnaud prefers 1 single payment; that's OK: I can pay him and you guys can PayPal me. We can work this out after the fix the previous point.
Any comments, additions, wisdoms, plaisantries?

Pleasantries - sure ;) Great job!

I'm still in for 5, but can do with 3 if we don't need to reach the higher number.

Wow! Well done, Master Zung!

:bounce: :bounce2: :bounce3:

I'm still in. I currently have 1 Mk5, possibly soon to be 2, and would like 3 turret bolts, but am happy to order 5 to make the order work.

Thanks again for all of the work you've put into this (and for "sacrificing" your Mk5).

Best wishes.

Thanks for a great job.

I will still take 5... maybe a couple more if no one else wants them.

Yeah. But how do I get them?

A quick head count with the latest changes:

awap: 5-10
bax767: 2
couv: 2
haloclyne: 5
HenrikBP: 3-5
Iknee: 3
jacked_72: 2
Kgualt: 4
LeadTurn_SD: 3-5
Luis H: 5-7
Oceancurrent:4
Superstar: 1
Texfrazer: 5
Zung: 1

Total: min. 45, max. 56

We're in good shape! Let's think it over Xmas and make the final order next year. I'll calculate the shipping and the individual cost then.

bax767, kgault, Oceancurrent, haven't heard from you for a while, are you still in?

Disclaimer: while I appreciate all the pads on my back, Arnaud, the seller, is actually the one who did all the work.
