Certainly it hoped so. FWIW it seems that rattle snakes have been observed lately to be more of a mind to blend into the background, as rattling used to warn animals to stay away, now it attracts humans with murderous intent. The genus is starting to adapt away from rattling...the quiet snakes live and reproduce longer...

That is interesting and makes a lot of sense.

Man! That's close, Ken! What rig did you use for that. Looks like a ring flash from the double highlights in the eyes. Great shot. Here's another macro with the D200, Nikon 105mm, and a ring flash (this guy was tiny):

Wow Clay that frog is great. The mantis was with a D70, 105mm, the Nikon closeup kit with the ring, and two little wireless SB-R200 strobes on the ring. That's a great setup for bugs, flowers, bugs on flowers, etc.
