Thanks cdiver2. It is my understanding that those blue eyes indicate an impending molt.

It doe's not seem at all agitated with your presence, are they more docile when molting? Did it rattle at all?

I've put together a site that features images from several great photographers. To add to the interest, there are a number of topside shots, take from all around the world in out travels. Hope you enjoy. If you do, please pass the website on to a friend. Thanks, J.C.

No it did not rattle, it moved as if I wasn't there. ++Ken++

FWIW, once their eyes have changed, they can't see and will usually hide until they have molted. Though he probably smelled you, he probably thought he was well hidden from you.

cdiver - nice Cardinal. I've been trying to get a pic of the one that belongs to the babies but no dice thus far. Too fast. I did get some shots of one of the Osprey's the other day, 50 or so to be exact, okay well maybe 80. None turned out though. He was too high for my camera. I uploaded a few random ones. Didn't bother messing with any of them. Note, as soon as I gave up on his moving, so I might have a better chance for a closer pic, he moved :shakehead:

Love the dragonflies - yours must be a different kind than ours, though. Ours never sit still!

I did some surfing stuff the other day...

Re the Dragonfly's, there hundreds of different types. Some are always on the move feeding and some are very Territorial siting and ambush the insects as they pass by returning to the same look out post.

Maybe a internet search to see what type's you have in your location.
