My advice would be not to extract i from the background. It's possible and with enough hard work you may even be able to pull it off properly (it won't be easy) but I don't think the background detracts from this image. I just don't think by photoshopping the background away you will ever end up with a better picture than this one. Just my opinion.

I just like the pics with the black background. Anyway, I have just played with a bit and umm I don't thing extracting it is a good idea :D

Thank you for the advice.

I agree with Deefstes the background is good. But it might also look good on a black background as you say. I don't know if you know about the background eraser (at least in CS3), right click the eraser and see if the background eraser is there in Elements.
Once you know what you are doing it doe's not take that long to do, a very good book that covers (in more depth) what you have just done and erasing the back ground is Photoshop CS3 photographers seminar work book with Ben Williams.
You could join NAPPA, cut price on books, seminars, online tutorials and a help desk.

:11: *Miss running from cdiver* My god man, I have to have a life. You know I took 50 or so pics of my osprey yesterday, crawled around in my yard looking for bugs, then goofed on the computer. I do have to shower at some point, you know? :wink1:
