Great photos the birds came out a lot better than the last one's, great job.

Dragonfly, there are thousands of species different colors and how the light hits them changes the color, I have never seen that color. However I am going to contradict you, you said no color. It is there just on the dark side. So I hope you don't mind I gave it a quick 5 min on curves in PS. Let me know what you think

Oh I like that - the red is much nicer. :) As for the birds; I pushed the macro button which I had forgotten I had

It happens to all of us, but the more you use the camera = less mistakes. Good hunting (for photos)

I have Photoshop Elements - Just wondering what you did in your program to get that red to pop more (wondering if I can apply it in my program). Thanks for the tips/advice btw. :)

I don't have my pics with me right now (they're on my other computer) but I'll give a website link for them http://tdhdivebc.photoshop.com When I get my computer I will add to this post!

Ciao

I am not sure what elements has in it, I have CS3. However a quick guide if you have the tools.

After opening your photo go to image ( Top tool bar) from the drop down select curves. You will get a box with a line from bottom left corner to top right corner, click and drag the line up-down ( play with it ). This will adjust brightens/contrast.

Then get quick selection tool in the left hand tool bar (this is also the magic wand tool, if it is active as the wand right click and select quick selection tool from the drop down box.

Then click/hold and go around the area/color you wish to adjust (in our case the eyes).
You will get a dotted line around the area, it may be larger or smaller than the area you want to work in, so go to the top tool bar and you will see 3 quick selection tools one highlighted (thats the one you are working with) the others one with a + this lets you expand the area you are working in, (click and drag again) The other with a - this lets you reduce the work area.

Once you have the work area (red eyes) highlighted as you want it go to the next step.

click on the 1/2 black 1/2 white circle at the bottom of the layers pallet, from the drop down box select curves. At the top of the curves box you will see RGB and a down pointer to the right, click the down pointer and you will see RED, GREEN, BLUE.

select red then again move the line up/down and watch the eyes.

I know it sounds difficult but once you have done its not, just takes a little time.

Okay - going to try that for this guy's tail that is washed out. Thanks - we'll c how I do

A great shot. As you said do the tail also, the yellow zip in the body AND THE EYE. I would do the eye twice once for the blue and again in the green part there is a lot of color there. I am not sure about the wing (Closest) I think there may be some color in there.

I once saw a DF photo were the light was hitting it just right and the wings were like a rainbow. Give it a go you can always delete if it doe's not work.
Great shot
