Thanks Andrew. I know what you mean about how expensive Mala Mala is. In 1983 I was giving a series of talks to various South African engineering groups (sponsored by a big South African steel company - Steeledale) and they hosted us for three nights at Mala Mala. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences I have ever had. On the bus from the airport to the resort the driver suddenly slammed on the brakes and pointed to one side. Fortunately what he was pointing to happened to be on my side of the bus. There, in the brush, maybe 100 feet from the bus, was this magnificent leopard. I had my camera stuff with me, managed to put on a 600mm lens, opened the window partway, and braced the lens on the glass. The result was this image, one of my alltime favorites.

Fantastic shot, and as you say a lucky one.
This is so often the case with leopards. I have never seen one in the wild. Lions, cheatah, rhino, but never a sign of a leopard. To often you hear, we saw one here yesterday or last week.

Is this thread supposed to be only topside photos?

Awesome pics midwest! I have to ask, how in the world to you get to capture star trails in broad daylight?

Beautiful pic parabolic. And it's a female no less, they are the best.

 thanks, deefstes, but those weren't shot in broad daylight. They were shot from midnight to 2 am the night after the full moon.
