Tao of the Dive:
So anybody got any ideas for the SI's or anything to make the dives more 'picturesque' Scubaboard style? Anything that might shake things up a bit...
BBQ, campfire, put the SB banner up UW during the day to recruit more members as well as by our main area to hang out of course. There are always kids to run around after, tubing down the river (beer included at your own risk). Seeing how shallow it is i see no reason (except getting cold) to avoid doing a shallow river drift to take up some time after the dives - we didnt see the bottom much beyond the ballroom run, most of us just inflated and drifted on the surface chatting. You wanna bring some games, anything from boules to twister (something with no small easily losable playing pieces), could take that volleyball net or a game of softball in that large field up by the entrance (trying not to be too energetic here) and of course just BS-ing the afternoon/evening away ;)

I mentioned to deepseawolfe about making a scuba template just for Megadive, with the scuba board logo and/or conch shell, to go along with candids. I've made a divers down flag template and are working on more.

I was pondering the less mundane, given the propensity of the members here to do/ think the less mundane...:D

Not that your frame is mundane Andrea...Not by a longshot.

That's cool...just something new to do with the same 'ol, same'ol. You know me...we'll we've only met once, but I'm always creating something on the photog end.

I thought the SB did have a banner, or the conch divers...it's a good idea...spark curiosity for other divers.

Simbrooks, your surface intervals suggestions sound grand (especially for the bubble watchers). Of course, I think I wouldn't mind basking in the sun.

There is a banner, we will have it along for the weekend i am sure!

As for SI time or BW, we sun bathing is limited at Ginnie, a large tree canopy and limited area that isnt covered by picnic benches might scupper plans (well people are there to dive!) a bit.

If there were enought scooters , I would be willing to bring my scooter and have some races up and down the spring run ...

I know back up north we had toyed with the idea of scotter jousting but ...

Gives a whole new meaning to 'watching the submarine races'...

Tao of the Dive:
it was a freeflow, not a bungee incident.

ah yes... and did i mention that IMMEDIATELY preceeding said freeflow,
the regulator in question was worked on by Simbrooks, OneBrightGator,
and Gibbon, without (legally speaking) an intervening proximate cause?

Gibbon's phrase of the day: "Sure you can fix a regulator with string!"

Now i have the tools and other pieces in my save a dive kit bag (now a backpack sized kit). ;) I do have string, but of course i still have no idea how he did that. I think Gibbon still has my Allen wrenches from that, but i got a new set afterwards (that cost the same for 12 wrenches as i spent on the entire tool kit from wally world). So you dont trust three mid-20 somethings to work on your regs - think we are shop monkeys or something??? Of course Gibbon has the name for it, but thats only a coincidence ;)

For the sunners, there is an area by the main office where sunning might be an option, and unless someone snags the pavillion, there is some sunning ground around the old ginnie pov. I recieved a volleyball set as a gift that is still in the box. That will be coming to Ginnie for the campsite area. I will also be looking at UW games. I'm not sure if I'll have the scooter by the party or not, but am hoping! I may have to do some "tweaking of internal systems" if I'll be racing it. :) Mmmm,... a sea-ray with a V-8 engine?
Other UW fun can include fishing for tubers, (previously aforementioned floating parts). Sharkfins, discus throw (uw-frisbee), underwater flag football, followed immediately by the tired diver tow practice.
I liked the idea of scooter jousting. making the foam rubber lances neutrally buoyant might be interesting. Then there's always river run paintball, aka tag the river otter project.
For the more adventurous, there's chainsaw juggling and circular saw blade frisbee. For the little ones, there's pin the tail on the TAO.
OOPS!!! Did I let that one slip out? That was to be a surprise party game! Oh well. ;)
