Is Pete going to come ? If not is anyone going to be able to get the Scubaboard banner to bring ? It would be nice to have IMO.
Dont know, we asked, cant recall the answer on his attendance (i think Jenny knows). As for the banner - the original banner is MIA from a previous event or transport thereafter by all reports (last sighting leaving the S Fl meet and greet in December), but Pete is working on another one, if its ready in time i will likely meet up with him and bring it up.

Can anybody please give reliable directions to the site? I will be coming from I-75 south...

jenny: go past the Gainesville exits.

then get out on the Alachua exit (State Road 441)

take 441 north (right) to High Springs

turn south (left) on Main Street (State Road 41 and State Road 27).

follow Main Street through town. you will see the sign for Ginnie Springs on the right.

turn west (right) on NW 182nd Ave/County Road 340.

Ginnie will be on the right, after Poe Springs, Blue Springs, and a water bottling
plant. turn right at the sign, follow the dirt road, and you'll hit the gate.

OK, get off at exit 399. This is the first High Springs exit, the road name is 441. Go West ( a right from the exit ramp). Follow 441 to High Springs, maybe 7-8 miles. When you get to the first stoplight in High Springs, take a left. You can identify this intersection by the Hardee's on the right hand corner. After you take this left, follow that through downtown High Springs (notice the various beautiful high rise office buildings under construction). When you see the BP station on the left hand side, turn Rght (there is a sign for Ginnie Springs, Poe Springs, & Blue Springs). Follow that for ~ 6-8 miles, passing signs for Poe Springs & Blue Springs. Eventually you will come upon the sign for Ginnie Springs. (Did you notice all of the pretty cows along the way? Did you remember to buy a mule?) Turn right (if you turn left, tell Earl at the body shop in Alachua that I sent you). Follow that about a mile, then right down the kinda dirt road. Tell the nice lady at the gate that I sent you.

Don't listen to him! He leads you to certain death!!

it follows logically, that you can not be speaking from experience... thus, your
"warning" lacks credibility

:eyebrow:

I need to send him a PM!
I am considering getting a VOA Banner made and having it say something like;
"Visions of Atlantis Scuba Center sponsors another Megadive for SCUBABOARD.COM"
Then I can have one present at ALL Megadives. By not putting an event title other than my beloved "Megadive" nick, I can use it anytime we have an event. I need to talk with him about the use of the logo and stuff. Regardless of this, I will be making a VOA banner in the upcoming months and it will be ready in plenty of time for the Octoberfest Megadive. I may make another banner specificly for Octoberfest saying something like...
In defiance of Hurricane attempts to erase Florida, "Visions of Atlantis Scuba Center" proudly presents another Octoberfest Megadive!
Another year like '04, and we'll have to rename this group, Hurricane Divers from Underwater Florida.
I'll have to get my deco cert to be able to visit Miami!

They BOTH lead you into certain death!
Get off at exit 399 at US 441.

Look guys, I know it may be crowded, but we need to mislead the NON scubaboarders! :D

Well I have checked my calendar and if all goes well I should be able to make it assuming I can find someone to fill my tanks.... lol Just remembered my Vis is due on one tank this month and one next month. oops.....
If I leave outta here after work it should only take me about 4-6 hours depending on traffic. Assuming I can get outta here.

If not I will be hopefully getting the boat ready for Venice in the next couple of weeks. will know more in the next couple of days.... till then....
