That's just the way it is. A bunch of self-designated pontificators criticizing anybody else's challenge to their ideals.
If you followed the thread from the beginning you would realize that the OP did not articulate any of the advantages of the system other than its weight. At $659 it is more expensive than even Halcyon's travel BP/W. At a $200 price premium over a DSS setup there should be more advantages to the system than just weight.
The OP has now better articulated the advantages of the system. My only suggestion is to drop the bit about the stainless steel D-rings. If aluminum isn't reliable (which is silly because the make aircraft out of the material) then is the backplate not reliable? I assume it is made out of aluminum also.
