I'd like to try and make it. It would be my first M&G. As of now, baring any major conflicts, the last two weekends in april work for me. I'm not sure how long these MG weekends usually last, but it's easier for me to make a friday/sat date than a sat sun,

This is how it usually goes.

Once place and weekend has been decided.

People begin arriving Early Friday Morning. and stay until Sunday Afternoon.
alot of people stay the entire weekend some just come and go through out the weekend. We always Have a big Pot luck lunch/dinner sometime Saturday afternoon. that is the must not miss event. Who brings what for the pot luck is also decided in this thread. that is why we start it early to get all of the dates and details worked out in plenty of time. Some also use this thread to line up bunk mates for the weekend DMP?? unfortunatly he is out of state and probably wont be able to be with us this year. This is also the time to show off new gear or try to sell off gear you will no longer be needing. Plus I see that our dry glove specialist has already confirmed his attendance. So you will be able to get those new dry gloves installed. Bottle melting class is usually Saturday night also along with smores dir class.

Mitten Diver:
BS, Dive, BS, Eat, BS, Dive, BS, Eat, BS, Dive, BS, Eat, BS, Dive, BS or something very similar to that. Looking back at it though it seems like a lot of BSing though. Come to think of it this group is pretty full of it, BS that is.

Count me in, I guess I am in charge of Tex Mex Dip and incidentals.

I think you missed a couple of "eat"s in the itinerary.

Also, I don't see a mention of melting bottles . . . .

Ken

Whhooops, I should have gone all the way to the end before replying, the bottle melting slip already got caught!

HMM, dry glove specialist. Will probably be too late for my first dry glove dive but it could be interesting.
Bottle melting?? I would think that bottle empting would be alot more fun... but what do I know :D

BS works better for me and I might be able to make a three day weekend out of it. Just depends upon the works schedule. If we do Gilboa or Whitestar(?) then I for sure will be there two days. I don't drive 4 hours for 1 days worth of diving.

Newb to the group. I am in for some time some where. Haven't made it to Gilboa but I am up for it. I am sure that I will know a couple faces.

You'll know more than a couple!

.... Saturday night also along with smores dir class.

ahhhh.... that would be SIR class. S'moring It Right. Do all our S'more specialists plan to attend?

My April weekends are pretty open so far. Easter is on April 16th so I'll put in my 2 cents and say weekend should be thrown out of our potential list. Even if some think it would be a good date, I'm sure attendance would be low.

I'll bring my big ole cauldron and tri-pod. If everyone can help and keep the fire going during the day, I'll heat up some nice warm soup. Won't wait for the buffet but have it ready if (LOL - IF?) the air and water temperatures warrant it.

Paula

Hey Paula!! You were one of those that I was talking about. Good to see you're still around. BTW, the GF is still saying that when we go to Cleveland that I need to dive. :D

The viz at BS was great New Years eve, 25-30 easily. Water temp...ok so it was a bit chilly at 41 degrees. Good thing was that there was no thermal cline.

ICUROK:
It was in dive training magazine, you can see the article with this link.

I will be neutral on this. Blue Springs is less than an hour at most closer to me. The difference between 4 or 5 hours isn't significant at that point. By the way, the Dive Training mag article got the extention wrong on the website. It is .net rather than .com. The site doesn't work too well using Firefox. Seems to be built for MS Explorer only.
