I read somewhere that there are some minor Mayan ruins on the north part of Ambergris Caye. Has anyone heard of this and are they worth visiting? I'd like to see some ruins (already saw Tikal back in 1993) but don't want to spend the whole day traveling. Nothing spectacular expected; just want to explore and take some photos, perhaps of how the jungle has taken over the structures, or of some wildlife. Also heard that Altunha is just so-so. Any suggestions appreciated!

Countdown: two days until San Pedro.....I'm very productive at work right now
