May We Have a Singles Forum, Please

Big-t-2538: Based on your position as a (I presume) married person that you feel there is no need for a singles forum, I would have to say there is no need for a women's views forum (since I am a man), a wreck diving forum (since I rarely dive wrecks myself), a New England Lobstah Divers forum (since I never expect to dive in New England).

New forums are set up to meet the individual needs of subsets of the SB members. Singles in search of permanent dive buddies (myself included) are a legitimate subset of that population. If enough SB members feel the need, then it should be considered by the regulators.

Personally, I would welcome it.

You won't be forced to read such a forum !

Well, you can't tell from the picture. I was divorced when my daughter was quite young.

Could we request future response on this thread be from Singles Only - or PLEASE IDENTIFY YOURSELF AS SINGLE OR OTHERWISE - preferably at the first of the post.

Me, neither. My original suggestion was " There are certain challenges to being an unmarried traveler and diver, and some of us would like to have a forum to discuss these challenges, possibilities, and such. "

I would be against it either way, yes I am married, but why does that matter?...this is mainly a diving board...there should be all sorts of diving forums within a diving board...I just don't want to see personal ads when I hit the "new posts button"

Maybe if they made it like the "business of diving" area, that woudl be a possibility...that way people who are not interested in the slightest bit don't have to read or even know about it.

Ok so maybe married types have some good ideas about being single too! LOL! Not sure how the "Business of Diving" area works but I'm presuming it is there but doesn't list new posts like other areas of the board does. That would be cool by me. Might invite less lurkers and allow more serious single types to have a cool place to hang out and discuss subjects that matter to us and uniquely us! And yes....I think we have LOTS of unique matters that pertain to singles only.....from finding a buddy for a dive trip to finding an ultimate mate one day....to just the "business" of being a single diver! Hence the idea for a SINGLES DIVE TRIP!!! for single, unmarried divers only! (LOL!!!) Sorry to all you married types...I get to dive with you already....doesn't matter where you live or what your name is.....if you are married....you all fall into the same category....Nice but Off Limits! LOL!!! ;)

As for personal ads....they don't need to be posted on the thread (unless in humor of course) as you can put quite abit of info IF YOU WANT TO in your profile. If done correctly you might just invite a PM from someone who is intrigued! Nothing wrong with that!!! ;)

Wish I could vote again for a singles forum....I think I have already so I'm sure they won't count my vote twice!
