Well the dive Sunday was great. Slippery Sue and I got there a little late in the morning (around 10:30) and Kraken and Jeremy (I think Jeremy) were already in the water. While we were unloading Braz showed up and he and I did a dive together, basically puttering around the diver cove and kicking up silt, but hey, better than sitting in an office! We almost caught a pontoon boat on our patented diver down float lure but he spit it out before we could sink the hook...
The outside temp reached 94 F, at 42 ft it was 57 F. There were three distinct layers with the top 5-10 feet being very warm as you can see from the attached profile. Low 70's at the top, mid 60's down to 40, then 57 or so below the final thremocline.
After the dive we fixed hotdogs and Kielbosa and enjoyed Linda's coleslaw and deviled eggs. After a rest period Kraken, Linda and I did a second dive out of the diver cove, around the point to starborad and into the deep end of the swimmers cove. Visibility got pretty poor (probably because of all the swimmers stiring everything up at the shallow side how inconsiderate of us divers!
) but like I said, much better than sitting at the office.
I finally got the Coolpix in the Fantasea housing working right, the problem was the idle turnoff was set to low (it defaults to 1 minute, I tried setting it up to 5, then finally to 30) once I made that adjustent it worked fine. I have attached the best photo...unfortunately I didn't use the strobe so it is a bit green...photoshop was able to clean it up a bit, but I'm DBA not a Photoshop Wizard, Jim!
