Joy dishingwashing liquid works great for me! I just wet my mask, apply a tiny bit to it, rub it inside and out.. wash it off and ready to go.. I do this minutes before I jump over the rail.Dont apply too much or else you'll get it in your eyes under pressure going down eventho you washed it out... I would do this about 3 times in a 4hr diving period... Also if your mask is brand new, it fogs like crazy and Joy I found to be the best! Just have to apply it more often but once your mask is broken in.. the less you use...

I have a few questions.

1- why do the manufacturing companies leave this film for us divers to deal with? Kinda ironic, we buy a mask to be able to see underwater.

2- I see some people mentioning that they use toothpaste twice a year or so while others mention they use shampoo/toothpaste before each dive?
It seems the pre-dive cleaners are getting ripped off because the bi-yearly cleaners have it better.

i just bought the mares x vision and used it 5 times, still fogs up evne though I thoroughly cleaned it with toothpaste before the first dive. for argument's sake, ill clean it today again before the dive. Hopefully it will not fog up.

1: The film applied by the manufacturers is supposed to help keep the lenses protected until purchased.

2: Can't really answer that one. I dive SeaVision masks and SeaVision specifies that toothpaste is not to be used to clean the lenses of their masks, at least the ones I've purchased, anyway.

I simply use the J&J to prevent fogging, and to rinse out my wet suit, and to wash what hair I have left, and to rinse out my B/C, and to help don my dry suit.
