Hi. I've been having issues with the rEvo mouthpiece making it difficult to get a good seal on my mask. While I like using the mouthpiece retainer (gag strap) I'm considering removing it and installing a standard mouthpiece. Has anyone else had the same problems?

1) There is a up and a down orientation to these. Make sure it's installed in the right orientation. 2) they save lives.
Thanks for the advice. I agree and I really want to keep using the retainer

What exactly is the problem? I use the AP Diving one and dont have issues with mask not sealing.
When looking at the photo I supplied, there is a large flange on the mouthpiece that looks a bit like the back of a baby's pacifier. Its profile is quite bulbous against my lips (I'm assuming this is to help create a seal in case of a blackout).
I feel like this is squashing everything together, effectively reducing the surface area on my upper lip and making it difficult for the skirt on my mask to create a seal

Hi
Further to my previous reply I've attached a photo comparing the rEvo mouthpiece with a standard mouthpiece fitted to the BOV.
Now that I look at the photo I can see the standard mouthpiece has greater clearance from the BOV.
I'll do a test dive with it tomorrow.
At least I can still use the retainer strap
Thanks

Good luck finding mouthpieces that fit. I've played that game and decided to stick with the standard rEvo mouthpiece / gag strap combo. Have you considered a new mask?

rEvo mouthpiece is wide. You can try a JJ mouthpiece or a SeaCure (I think it was size 5), but then you'll loose gag strap comfort and safety. I did not find rEvo DSV to be comfortable w/o a gag strap because the loop always pulled down.
