I have a phone call into the California Costal Commision Long Beach Office (which handles PV) to verify they have agreed to the closure. Never hurts to check the facts.

Maybe they'll even make some improvements to that road that leads down to the cobble stone beach of death.

Something nice and close the water's edge. :crafty:

A set of steps leading into the water like Avalon's dive park would be nice... But since that might be somewhat out of the question, I'll settle for an escalator on the hill of death instead... :D

Didn't they close Marineland a zillion years ago and send all the fishies home? What's the hubbub, bub? What, is there no diving at Busch Gardens or at Japanese Deer Park, or at Santa's Village?

PS: "I'll take theme parks of the '70's for $200, please, Alex...."
There is diving available at a certain alligator filled lake in Harbor City. :D

Ah, c'mon Christian. You know nobody ever got hurt there. :D I thinks it's kinda funny that after seeing all your cuts and bruises that day, it's your pinky that still hurts. At least you kept your pride. :D

Hey, if they do the Marineland development like they did at the Montage in Laguna it will be incredible. Manicured gardens on the top of the cliff, showers and restrooms, stairs and ramps down to the beach, heated towels waiting for you after your dive, ATV's waiting to lug your gear up...

We went there Sunday for ADP and had two really great dives! Off the point for the first one. We went off the cove to find the end of the old pier for the second dive. I looked under the platform and there was a beautiful 2 foot long juvenile black sea bass! Grey and black with those nice black spots and a couple of white ones by the gill plate. I about sucked my tank dry while hanging out there watching it! To think that they were almost wiped out. It is good that they are coming back so strongly.

I am going to really miss diving there. I hope that it opens up again soon and that we get unrestricted access. Also, I hope the pesticide runoff doesn't kill everything. Maybe I am dreaming?

Actually, I was just joking with someone that after all that visible damage, it's only my pinky that hurt after a couple of days. I'm pretty sure I cracked a bone or two, but I feel lucky that my hand came between my face and a rock. It was a worthwhile sacrifice. :11:

I'm now able to make a loose fist and hope to be able to tighten it in another week or two. My finger is even straight. Bonus! :D

I look forward to going back to visit my reef (and maybe some new ones) when Marineland opens again for diving. :crafty:

Just read a dive report on Legoland - the underwater Atlantis built from legos sounds pretty cool. :crafty:
