If you've been waiting for the right time to dive the Palos Verdes peninsula, the time is now! SpKelpDiver and I did an early morning dive at Marineland and conditions were uber good. Upon entry at the cobblestone beach, we could clearly see the rocky bottom all the way out onto the sandy flats. Visibility was a solid, clean, crisp 25ft in the cove! Even more if you count what you could see through the murk. With time constraints and me feeling a bit under the weather, we opted to do the 120 reef. :shakehead: I now greatly regret that, but hey I'll be going back tomorrow for a Long Point dive:D Visibility was so good that we got a little turned around when making our exit. We were in the cove, just outside the cobblestone beach but instead of just seeing sand and small rocks, we came across pier pilings and various metal debri. Where did these come from? It was great to go out and see what we normally just pass by without noticing.

The water is warm and clear, so suit up and get wet!

Here's a few pics from today:

Absolutely. That was an unfortunate turn of events that prevented us from diving. Soon..Late Fall / early Winter is the season to be diving, so let me know when your free.

Great. I haev to work a half day tomorrow, but I'll be there before 11:00
I too am working a half day;) But will be there around 12:30. See you there.

I especially liked the zebra goby out in the open... they're hard for me to get on videotape.

That was my first sighting of a zebra gobi at the 120 reef. I've seen them at Long Point "the other deeper dive site at Marineland" but never at 120. As soon as I snapped the photo he bolted back into his hole and didn't come out. They are very hard to shoot. Probably the hardest of all gobi species I've came across.

For both this dive and yesterdays I wasn't really stopping and setting up my shots. I would just snap a quick photo and then move. Still I came out with some decent ones.
