Any leads on service kits for 12X and 15X? My buddy has a dozen or more of these regs and no source for kits. For export to a third world country with no dealer. Thanks.

For some reason, the current version of the 12 is called 12S, not 12X, but it still uses the same ACT valve as the 15X/22X/52X.

The 12S service kit is part number 46201370 . mares 12s 46201370 - Google Search - and you'll find multiple suppliers, mostly in Europe. The best deal appears to be from Aqua Sport in Canada: Mares Service Kits 12S

The 15X/22X/52X kit is part number 46201355

Thanks so much, will give them a try. They are simple, robust regulators, just a couple of parts that are not available elsewhere.

Anyone have an idea why there is another service kit for the 15/22/52?

These are well known:
  • EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 2015, ALL 1ST STAGE SERVICE KITS INCLUDE THE ACT POPPET
FIRST STAGE 52X-22X-15X INT/DIN: # 46201355
FIRST STAGE 52X-22X-15X INT/DIN VITON: # 46201358

I have found a decent deal on: 46201580 - it says 15/22/52 on it and seems correctish...

The current ...580 is for the 15X-52X-25X.

If you have a 22X, you need the ...355.

Here's the labeling and contents of the current 46201355. I don't have an older one or a 46201580 for comparison. If you get one, maybe you can post it here?

Thanks - I am slowly upgrading the family fleet to 52x from 22t and will order a couple. The wife's 52 needs service since she like to forget the cap when putting into the rinse tank. I'll post the 1580 sheet when I get it

The ..580 in your picture appears to include the diaphragm. The 22 diaphragm is different from the one in the 52. My guess is the 25XR uses the same diaphragm as the 15 and 52 and it's a replacement requirement so they included it in the kit.

If this is the case, the ...355 would be fine for the 15 or 52 as long as the diaphragm was OK.

Here is the Oring page from the 46201580 kit for 52x/15x/25xr

Thanks. Same O-rings, filters, filter lock ring and poppet*. 1580 also has the 15/52/25 diaphragm and plastic diaphragm washer and the little plastic HP chamber washer and AST gasket. AST is a DIN-only feature that supposedly will keep water out of the first stage if you rinse or soak an unpressurized reg without a properly fitted dust cap.

Bottom line, you could use the 1355 kit for the 15/52/25 in a pinch if your diaphragm is good. You would have to be careful about removing the plastic washers. I would also worry about the AST seal, but I wouldn't be comfortable relying on AST anyway.

OTOH, you can certainly use the 1580 kit for the 22/32 and I think the 16 if it's been upgraded with the ACT seat. You'll just have some parts left over.

*Even though the list says my 1355 kit has the older Tri-Material poppet, you can see it actually includes the current ACT version. The Tri-Material one has a black coating on the shaft.
