Can't wait! 8 days and a wakeup to get on that big jet airplane...

This will be our third trip down to the keys in 2 years, and have been out With Tilden's on numerous occasions - we really like them. Will be our second trip out with Ocean divers, so votes still out. Never been out of Looe Key - always been blown out when we've tried, so will be our first trip out with them.

Awwww...looks like we're going to miss you! We will be diving Sunday, Monday and Tuesday - but we're booked with Rainbow Reef in Key Largo. I have to stick close to there because I will have a friend traveling with me and we don't want to leave her alone all day.

Can't wait to hear how your trip goes :D

CajunDiva, The Tuesday AM trip with Looe Key is a "snorkel" reef as well if ya'll wanted to run down. Nothing deep planned that day. Really looking forward to the Saturday night dive as well. We've only managed one night drop down there so far, the rest have been in the GOM.

Looe Key is interesting but shallow -- 20 feet tops at the sand. lots of fish etc though... it's a big cattle boat catering to snorkelers and divers. I would dive it rather than snorkel. basic instructions are be back in a hour for the divers :) easy dive but lots to see for photographers if viz is good - I'm going to the Ren Fair on Sat myself up here.

True - shallow dives, but we're breaking up the wreck dives, deep reefs, with some fun, easy shallow dives. We've tried on the last two trips to get out to Looe Key, but keep getting blown out. We have 30-35 drops on Molasses/Sombrero/Delta Shoals/Boom Ledge/Ivory Wreck/Flaglers, etc, and I think the deepest we hit was 39' - but great diving. REALLY looking forward to the Spiegel Grove and hitting the Thunderbolt again.
