Hope you enjoyed the dive. It is pretty cool dive- I was at the bottom of the 60m room a couple of weeks ago. Its pretty silty in there and I wouldn't do it without a line - you could drive a bus through the restriction which is more a dip though - I fit easily through there in twin 18s and a drysuit. We did about 40min of BT including all the scootering along the wall. All on trimix :14: and yes a fat bill too :(

Drop in at about 30m to the east of the cave scooter, down to the wall at ~50m and followed along. My buddy almost went straight past the entrance...good job I had my eyes open :) Drop the scoots, deco bottles and stage at the sign and tie off. Find a secondary just inside the cave and off down the right hand side - the rays are dive bombing us but a quick wave of the HID and they get the message. Work up the right hand side and get to the dip through (it hasn't changed since last time I went through years ago but looks alot bigger on trimix). There is a nice fist sized piece of rock for a placement we pass through, gently gently since there is alot of easily disturbed silt, the passage slopes down at ~45o and bears left, off to the right is a small dead end. The floor continues to slope down. The ceiling stays at teh same depth. The room is pretty big plenty of space for 3 divers and the viz is crystal clear. The bottom is very silty and tieing off creats a puff or two of silt. There are strage marks all over the floor and some bones of a pretty big fish - no fin prints or other human type marks. We turn retrieve the line and out through 1m or less viz through the restriction pick up the stages, deco bottles and scooters and off we go...deco up the reef. The best bit is coming out and seeing our 3 Gavins, and 9 bottles outlined against the deep blue of the entrance :D Average depth was about 50 so we did 50min of deco - slow the ascent down to 21 then switch to 50% 25min between 21 and 6 then switch to O2 12 min on 6 off and nice slow ascent on O2

great description graham. trimix seems like the best option when attempting a dive like this.

Graham,

Nice dive description especially the dive bombing rays... mind if I take your gavin for a spin...

OT: Graham, are you the local halcyon rep? or am I mistaking you for another Graham in HK...
