Mack knew that I was interested in learning more about how regulators worked and especially how to service them. Out of the goodness of his heart, he extended an invitation for me to attend a class to learn about Oceanic regs. I learned more in that class in a shorter period of time than I have in any other scuba class I have taken. I have a much deeper understanding of the different regulators Oceanic offers and what exceptional machines they really are.

One big thing I did learn, if you venturing into the great unknown with little or no logistic support, dive an unbalanced piston regulator. Simplicity itself to fix and not much to go wrong.

If you ever get the chance to take a manufacture's class on servicing regulators, take the class. It will be worth more than the time and money.

Mack, you took care of me and didn't make any money on the front end, but you will down the road many times over.

I concur. It was a great class. Now I need parts and some schematics. Hats off to Darryl.

Glad you enjoyed the class. Let me know if you have any questions on the topics covered.

With any worthwhile class, the student ends up with a lot of answers and even more questions. After this class, am I really qualified to rebuild all of the Oceanic regs? Not a chance and it would be criminal to let me try without very close supervision. There is a lot more that I have to learn.
