Just got back from a boat trip with Parrot Island Scuba in Pompano Beach this morning.

Our first dive was on the barge wreck of the Sea Emperor (this is the barge that is upside down with concrete pillars all around it) north of the Hillsboro Inlet. As I began my decent I came face to face with a manta ray. I quickly tried to get my camera and ended up only capturing it swimming away.

It was a real treat to see this in only 15 ft of water. Great way to start the day and the dive.

Thanks to Capt. Jerry and Kim.

Yes it was the Sea Emperor.

Great dive. Saw lots of cool stuff. Didn't get go inside the hull because I had a newer diver with me but definitely the next time.

I was so excited I spit out my primary reg and had to switch to my back up for a moment!

nice..

As per the suggestion of people on the board, I think I'm going to be diving in Pompano in Aug. Parrot seems to be a good shop. Do you recommend diving w/ them?

thanks

J

I dove Parrot Island last week and would definitely go out with them again. Lots of people on these boards go out with them pretty regularly.

Dived with Parrot Is. today, saw a manta ray on the Copenhagen! going out with them on the Sea Emperor tomorrow, I hope to see another then.
