I'm new here on the board and thought with all the experienced divers that are here this would be a good place to see what people think of the Manta bite mouth piece.

After really looking at one and reading all the accident report the one common theme in all the report is that their regs. were floating in the water and not in their mouth.

I always dive the on the "safe side" and using this mouth piece makes sense to me because it cannot fall out of your mouth.

Anyone else use one? what do you think?

Mine came in the mail today. I tried the SeaCure and it just didn't work for me - it made it much more difficult for me to move my jaw when trying to equalize and I put the original generic mouthpiece back on after only a couple of dives. That improved the equalization issue immediately, so I'm thinking there must have been a correlation.

Anyway, from other threads, I'll try re-molding the SeaCure while biting more softly which will perhaps keep the jaw in a looser position and improve my equalization issues, and give the SeaCure another try some day.

In the meantime, thought I'd give the Manta-Bite a try. The Manta-Bite is big - no doubt I will be trimming it over the next few days, but I won't have an opportunity to dive it until June so I can't give much more feedback than "it's big". That said, it holds in the mouth with my mouth totally relaxed and without biting down on the bite wings at all, though it's a totally different (wierd) sensation than a traditional mouthpiece. Definitely expect it will take some getting used to.

I tried the Manta Bite - it didn't work at all for me.

The AL Comfo-bite did not work well for me at all - either right-side-up or upside-down (as some have suggested).

I have a Seacure that does work well for me, that I can swap between second stages easily (I use the Scubapro retaining clip).

My seacure gave me jaw fatigue like CRAZY! The AL comfo bite was a night and day difference, this manta thing looks interesting to say the least..... :)
