Technical Diving Malaysia | REC N TEC Kuala Lumpur

Used to have a very informative web site, with an interesting Google Earth Map of the wrecks in the South China Sea. Not sure if the diveshop is operational or in business anymore. . .

Hi,

we run a Dive Centre in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Malaysian Borneo, short flight from KL). We can cater for rebreather and technical diving along the west coast of Sabah (you can find out more on my profile).

There are 4 WW2 wrecks suitable for extended bottom dives (3 of them for decompression diving) accessible from Kota Kinabalu on our RIB. All make interesting dives.

Obviously the drop offs at Sipadan and Layang Layang would be excellent sites too. Not aware any body can support tech divers there though (trimix, 100% oxygen for rebreathers etc.).

Hope this helps.

Yes, there are important technical diving sites in Malaysia. The best know are the wrecks of the HMS Repulse and the HMS Prince of Wales. IMO the best tech shop in the country is B&J diving on Tioman Island.

Check out the World War II wreck like POW, Repulse, Dutch Submarines, also supertanker 7 skies and other wrecks.

Would recommend B&J from Tioman.
