Hi All,

I know lots of you have been to Sipadan and Mabul. And after they closed off Sipadan and moved to Mabul, the prices have increased a lot since there are only 3 resorts in the island....think I'll stay off the island for a very very long time......

Hey, it's an idea. So, who's there, what's happening, where'd you dive last...?

Who's here? Quero from KL
What's happening? East coast season just beginning :)
Where am I diving? Last = Myanmar and Thailand last month. Next = Someplace east coast (Tenggol maybe) this month; Maldives LOB next month.

Hi Quero!

I was in Redang last weekend for the season opener! Water was a bit rough, but vis was good (15-20m). As for Tenggol, I think the earliest you can go is the 3rd week of April. I was told that the resort was broken into by some Thai/Local fishermen during the monsoon season. They grab most of the kitchen stuff and matresses in the rooms. Sad!

I'll be going there towards the end of April only and hope to see you there! :)

Till then, Happy Diving & Keep Those Bubbles Flowing!

My partner is bringing me to her home (Malaysia), I am Scottish, and I hope to take her diving in early April. I have about 150 dives she has never dived before so I hope to persuade her to take the plunge.
We land at KL and will drive from there to the East coast. We have looked at Lang Tengah and Tenggol as possible destinations.
I love to shore dive, but no buddy may make it difficult, evening and night dives are great, so hope to get some in when I am there.
I hope to get about 8 days diving over 2 destinations.
Any suggestions?
How much does diving packages cost?
Any help will be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance

Hi Victor. Please look at the link (I believe 3 posts above this one). Look in the "Dive trip" section. There are information on dive trips organised by members of the local forum. Drop them a line if you are interested in any of the offers. The monsoon season has just ended and the East Coast of the peninsular is now open for diving. Try your hand on the many dive sites on the East Coast of the peninsular. Sipadan and Mabul is overkill and too comercialised in my opinion. Check out Ed_Dman's post. Tenggol Island is a good example of what I'm getting at. Happy diving and hope you enjoy the sun and spicy food. SELAMAT DATANG.

P/S- Here is a link to the Tourism Board if you need any information in regards to visa requirements or travel planing.
