In a bit of a dilemma guys, i have 4 weeks off work, and have decided to hit up the red sea to do some diving for a good duration of that time. My leave starts around the last weekend in June (29th) until the 19th July. I am an AOW with 50+ dives, nitrox cert. too. If it helps i will be going on my own, so will need to find a dive buddy. But reading these forums it doesnt sound too difficult to find one as lots of people go solo?

However i have been furiously reading all these forum posts about the red sea, researching lots of liveaboard websites and other dive related websites and am no more the wiser. From what i can tell, there are two main areas worth checking out this time of year, the first being the northern Red Sea (The wrecks like Thistlegorm and the Ras Mohammed Marine Park), but also the Central Area (Brothers Islands, Daedalus and Elphinstone (sp?)).

Blue O Two seem to get many good recommendations here and have a package called "Simply The Best" covering all the areas i have mentioned in the central area. However i am undecided about what would be a good way to cover the Northern Area, whether it is better to base myself in Sharm El Sheikh etc and do shore dives / daily boat trips to the wrecks and some reefs, or whether there would be much more of a benefit to getting on another liveaboard to do this area?

Cheers for the forthcoming advice, i really appreciate it.
Luke
