How close are people getting physically to their macro subjects with say, the standard 14-42mm lens or w/ a diopter?
 
Eleven cm (4.33 inches) is as close as you can get with the 14-42 and still achieve focus. This is great, because you have lots of working room for strobes and skittish critters. I didn't measure when using a SubSee 10X but didn't feel I was going to squash the subject.
