I have an apeks atx 200 (din). When I screw the din threads into a tank, it seems like the threads could use some lubricant. I dive air, not nitrox.

Should you ever lube the threads? With what? Silicon grease? Thanks.

No, lubricant in this area would only attract debris. I suggest that you take an old toothbrush and give them a good scrubbing with some mild soap water solution. Make certain that you rinse the area thoroughly. If a little verdigris is present, then follow up with a scrubbing of diluted white vinegar (50% water & %50 vinegar). Rinse thoroughly with clean water, as the vinegar can be tough on plating if left on for an extended period of time.

also, check the tanks that you are using. They may have some gunk in them.

No lubricants, just clean the threads on the valve and the reg. Washing with vinegar and then water works, or you can use a little brush as well. This will take care of the problem...
